German thrash metal ins-tu-on Exumer will celebrate their 40-year anniversary in 2025, and the band is far from slowing down. The band plans to return to form with their 6th studio album, their 4th for Metal Blade Records, and extensive worldwide touring throughout 2025.
Exumer will present a new live set which will feature songs from both of their 1980s cult classic albums, as well as tracks from their enHre Metal Blade catalogue. Showcasing their recently revamped drums & bass rhythm section, fans saw firsthand what to expect during the band’s recent, highly successful European Festival tour in August, 2024.
Since the start from the band’s humble beginnings in 1980s Germany, original founding members, Mem V. Stein and Ray Mensh, have always emphasized longevity over a revolving roster and therefore it is expected that the current line-up will carry the band’s legacy well past and throughout the 2020s.
The band’s philosophy of presenting a contemporary sound, rooted in the feel of 1980s thrash metal, has firmly cemented Exumer in the same league as their generaHon’s fellow German thrash acts such as Kreator, Sodom or Destruction.
Always cognizant of current events, Exumer’s records in the 2000s, themaHcally capture the issues of the time. Whether global political undercurrents as on 2016’, “The Raging Tides”. Or on their last studio album “Hostile Defiance”, where the band managed to strike a nerve with the lyrical concept evolving around mental illness and its societal implications.
Fans and critics alike can look forward to Exumer’s newest output in 2025, when once again the band will musically and lyrically push the envelope in order to deliver exciting and relevant new material, followed by an equally thunderous live experience.
The journey to oblivion continues, 40 years and counting, Exumer is just getting started to carry their legacy and the thrash metal torch into the second half of this decade and beyond.
